Microsoft Surface Pro 6 with Intel 8th Gen Core processor announced in US

Microsoft has finally announced the launch of the sixth iteration of the Surface Pro, the Microsoft Surface Pro 6, today in the US. The latest Intel 8th Core processors power the new 2-in-1 laptops from Microsoft. Apart from the Surface Pro 6, Microsoft has also announced the Surface Laptop 2, the Surface Studio 2 and a new Surface headphones.

Surface Pro 6

The Microsoft Surface Pro 6 comes with a 12.3″ PixelSense touchscreen display with a resolution of 2736×1824 pixels. The 10 point multi-touch display has a 3:2 aspect ratio that we have seen in other Surface devices. The screen has support for input using the Surface Pen. Powering the new Surface Pro lineup are the Intel 8th Gen Quad-core processors, with either an i5 or i7 to choose from.

The integrated UHD Graphics 620 handles all the GPU intensive tasks. The laptops can be configured with up to 16 GB of RAM and a solid state drive of up to 1 TB in size. The battery underneath is claimed to offer up to 13.5 hours of local video playback time.

As for the connectivity, the Surface Pro 6 includes a full-size USB 3.0 port, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, a mini display port, a Surface connector port, and a microSDXC card reader. There’s also a Surface Type Cover port, which uses pogo pins to help the type cover which attaches to the Surface magnetically. The wireless connectivity options on the device include Bluetooth 4.1 and 802.11 ac Wi-Fi.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 6 comes with an 8 MP rear-facing Autofocus camera and a 5 MP front-facing camera which also has support for Windows Hello face authentication. Both the front and the rear-facing camera can record videos at a maximum resolution of 1080p.

For audio, the Surface Pro 6 comes with a 1.6 W stereo speakers with Dolby Audio Premium. The magnesium casing that holds the entire internals is 8.5 mm in thickness.

Pricing and Availability of Microsoft Surface Pro 6

The Microsoft Surface Pro 6 comes in Platinum and Black colors. The Surface Pro 6’s pricing starts from USD 899 (INR 65,847 approx.) for the base variant and goes all the way up to USD 2299 (INR 1,68,390 approx.). The Surface Pro 6 is available for pre-order starting today, while the shipments start from October 16, 2018.

  1. Microsoft latest 6th iteration of Surface series which is Surface Pro 6 looks promising because of latest 8th Generation intel i5/i7 quad core chipset along with 16GB RAM support & 1TB SSD apart price point is heavy as usual.
