POCO F1 launched with 6.18-inch display, Snapdragon 845, LiquidCool technology

POCO, the new brand under Xiaomi has stepped into the smartphone market, especially the Indian smartphone market with the launch of the POCO F1 smartphone, coming with the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. The phone has a 7-layer hard coated polycarbonate unibody with the reinforced internal frame structure.

The POCO F1 comes with the 6.18-inch Full HD+ display with the notch on the top of the display and it is a 19:9 display having the resolution of 2246 x 1080 pixels. It is the 2.5D curved arc glass on the top of the display and there is Corning Gorilla Glass protection. As said earlier, the POCO F1 comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, Adreno 630 GPU and variants with different amounts of RAM and storage. The phone has the LiquidCool Technology that uses a pipeline with water just above the chipset, and that helps keep the processor cold, and the heat generated by the processor is distributed evenly throughout the phone and the CPU is kept cooler when any intensive tasks like gaming are being done on the device.

The camera combination given on the POCO F1 is a dual-lens one on the back where a 12-megapixel primary sensor (Sony IMX 363 sensor) is assisted by a 5-megapixel one for the depth sensing. On the front, the device retains the 20-megapixel camera that was seen on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro. There’s an LED flash on the front for helping in the selfies in low light.

The POCO F1 comes with Dirac HD sound and Dual Smart PA, and for the security, there is a fingerprint sensor on the back and the phone has Face Unlock that is said to work even in low light conditions, thanks to the IR sensor given beside the front camera. There is MIUI for POCO with some differences from the actual MIUI, and here you get the POCO launcher with the App Drawer and customization options. The Android P update for the phone will be available in Q4 2018.

A 4000 mAh battery powers the POCO F1 and it supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology for the fast charging, and a 9V/2A charger in the box package. For the connectivity, the phone supports 4G+, i.e. the 4G VoLTE networks. There is dual VoLTE support.

The variants include 6GB + 64GB, 6GB + 128GB, and 8GB + 256GB storage where the storage is based on the UFS 2.1 storage, and the expandable storage is up to 256GB with the Hybrid SIM slot. There is USB Type-C and the phone has a headphone jack. The colors include Blue, Black, Red, and there is a Kevlar aramid fibre coated special variant as well and that is called the Armoured Edition.

The price of 6GB + 64GB variant is Rs. 20999. The 6GB + 128GB variant is priced at Rs. 23999, while the 8GB + 256GB variant comes at Rs. 28999. The Armoured edition comes at Rs. 29999, and that has the highest amount of RAM and storage. For the HDFC debit and credit card users, there is a Rs. 1000 discount. The first sale offer keeps the phone at Rs. 1000 less on each model, and with Jio, you will get Rs. 8000 worth instant benefits and up to 6TB data. There is a super soft case in the box package, and there is an Ultra-slim case with matte finish at Rs. 399. The Armoured case is priced at Rs. 799, and there are POCO official cases are going to be sold at Rs. 299.
