Xiaomi has unveiled the new smartphones in the Redmi series, with the announcement of Xiaomi Redmi 4 and Redmi 4A in China. While the Redmi 4 from Xiaomi is the standard variant, the Redmi 4A is the more affordable option and priced from 499 Yuan. The phones have 4G LTE connectivity with the VoLTE support.
Similar to the Redmi 3s, the Xiaomi Redmi 4 has a unibody design and it is a metallic body this time on the device. While the Redmi 4 and Redmi 4A have a similar display, they differ with the internal specs. The phones have a 5-inch display but the resolution differs a bit in the Redmi 4, where the Pro variant has a Full HD resolution while the standard variant and the Redmi 4A come with the 720p resolution.
Internally, the Redmi 4A has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage. The Xiaomi Redmi 4 standard variant comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage, while the Pro variant of Redmi 4 comes powered with the Snapdragon 625 processor supported by 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage. All these phones have a MicroSD card slot for the storage expansion. The phones run Android Marshmallow based MIUI interface.
The cameras on all the devices are the same, with a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The rear camera supports Full HD video recording. Just like the Redmi 3s, its successor Redmi 4 has got a 4100 mAh battery that has the fast charging support, while on the other side, the Redmi 4A comes packed with a 3120 mAh battery.
The Xiaomi Redmi 4 is going to be available in China right now and might be coming into the Indian market after at least a month or two, since the Redmi 3s is selling well in the market and the availability of that is already in question as the phone goes out of stock every week during the flash sale.
