ASUS India has officially launched a new smartphone under the ZenFone Zoom series as the ZenFone Zoom S goes live with the price tag of Rs. 26999. The smartphone comes with a full metal body and there is a 5.5-inch Full HD display on the front protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 5, with the 2.5D curved arc glass on the edge.
Internally, the ASUS ZenFone Zoom S is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor with the Adreno 506 GPU, 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. While the device runs Android Marshmallow based ZenUI 3.0, it is upgradeable to Android Nougat through an update. There is a fingerprint sensor offered on the back of the phone.
The rear camera is a dual-lens camera combination with the primary Sony IMX362 sensor and F/1.7 aperture, and the secondary camera, i.e. the zoom camera is capable of offering 2.3x optical zoom while you can push it to 12X digital zoom. There is a 59mm focal length for portrait shots and the cameras are supported by the 0.03s TriTech+ technology where there is Dual Pixel PDAF (Phase detection autofocus), 2nd gen Laser autofocus, and there is subject tracking autofocus as well. The Super Pixel technology that ASUS offers for the camera has features like Night shot, Low light, Back Light photos. The rear camera can capture 4K videos with EIS support.
On the front, the ZenFone Zoom S has a 13-megapixel camera with Sony IMX214 sensor and there is a screen flash feature for the enhanced brightness for selfies.
For the connectivity, the Dual SIM smartphone has VoLTE support (which would arrive through an OTA update) and the second SIM slot is a hybrid one offering support for either a MicroSD card or a SIM card. There is Cat.4 LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, and Bluetooth 4.2. For the Audio performance, the phone has a 5-magnet speaker with NXP Smart Amp for up to 4 times better performance.
Another highlight of the ASUS ZenFone Zoom S is the 5000 mAh battery that powers the phone and promises a two-day battery life. The phone is said to have BoostMaster fast charging support, though we don’t have the specifics of how quickly can it charge the phone fully. The ZenFone Zoom S also has the reverse charging support.
The phone will be available in Navy Black & Glacier Silver options and it is going to be available exclusively on Flipkart for Rs. 26999.
