Coolpad Cool Play 6 with 6GB RAM, Dual-lens camera launches for Rs. 14999

Coolpad has launched the Coolpad Cool Play 6 smartphone in the Indian market. The smartphone comes in contention against the Moto G5 Plus, Lenovo K8 Note, Honor 6X, and Xiaomi Redmi Note 4. The smartphone comes with a metal unibody design and since it offers a dual-lens rear camera setup, the design structure looks similar to that of the Honor 6X.

The Coolpad Cool Play 6 has a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display (1920 x 1080 pixels) and internally, the device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 octa-core processor along with 6GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. The phone runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat with the custom ROM, i.e. Journey UI layered over it.

For the camera combination, the phone comes with a dual-lens rear camera combination having a 13-megapixel + 13-megapixel combination and that is with F/2.0 aperture and phase detection autofocus. The cameras are supported by a dual LED flash for low light photography, and on the front, the device comes with an 8-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.

There’s a 4000 mAh battery powering the Coolpad Cool Play 6 and it charges with the USB Type-C port with the support for fast charging also offered on the device. This is a Dual SIM smartphone with the support for 4G with VoLTE for the Jio network in India. The device also has the other common connectivity options but NFC is not included. The phone is going to be available exclusively on Amazon India and the sale begins on September 4th.

While the device is priced very aggressively, it should come down to the camera performance because for the phone’s actual performance, it is well powered to offer a seamless experience but the cameras offered in this price range will be a challenge here.
