Asus launches the new ZenFone 4 lineup with 6 devices, all with dual-rear cameras

Finally, Asus has introduced its new ZenFone 4 lineup of smartphones. This new lineup is the immediate successor to the last year’s highly popular ZenFone 3 series of smartphones. As expected, Asus launched several devices in this lineup which cater to different needs. It is a total of 6 devices which consist of the ZenFone 4, ZenFone 4 Pro, ZenFone 4 selfie, ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro, ZenFone 4 Max and the ZenFone 4 Max Pro. The details about the pricing of these devices are not yet, but if we go by the history of Asus then we can expect all the devices to be reasonably priced.

ASUS ZenFone 4 Selfie

Asus ZenFone 4 Pro

The Asus ZenFone 4 is the leader of the pack of ZenFone 4 devices, it comes with some of the best specifications on paper and it is expected to perform the best overall. The device comes with a 5.5″ FullHD AMOLED screen and features a 2.5D glass both on the front and the rear side of the device. Coming to the processor, the device has the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset and this is paired with a 6GB RAM. This device will be available in 64GB and 128GB storage variants.

This device like most of the newly launched devices has a dual rear camera setup. The rear optic setup consists of a 12-megapixel sensor which is of f/1.7 aperture. The rear camera also supports Optical image stabilization, Phase detection autofocus, and even laser autofocus. The other rear camera to aid the primary rear camera is a 16-megapixel sensor with a 50mm telephoto lens to achieve natural 2x optical zoom. This device also features an 8-megapixel front camera with an aperture of f/1.9.

The device comes with a fingerprint sensor in the home button on the front and is powered by a 3600mAh battery with fast charging support.

This is a slightly lower variant when compared to the top variant of the lineup, this device comes with a 5.5″ FullHD LCD panel with a 2.5D glass on the front and back, just like the top variant. However, what sets the device apart is the processor, the Asus ZenFone 4 comes with a Snapdragon 660/Snapdragon 640 processor by Qualcomm and is available in two variants consisting either 4GB or 6GB of RAM.

The smartphone comes with a dual camera setup too, there is a 12-megapixel sensor with f/1.8 aperture, PDAF, and OIS. The other camera is an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens. The device also comes with an 8-megapixel front shooter for selfies and the battery on the device is relatively smaller at 3300mAh.

It is evident from the name that these two devices from Asus are going to be focusing on the front camera. Although the devices have a single-camera setup on the back, the front camera is a dual camera setup. The front camera setup includes a 20-megapixel primary camera aided by an 8-megapixel wide angle camera. This camera setup is accompanied by a front LED flash which can help you take selfies even in low lighting.

The dual camera setup on the Asus ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro is further improved, coming with a 24-megapixel primary camera, the secondary sensor is a 12mm focal length lens for better wide-angle captures. This smartphone also comes with the ability to shoot 4K videos from the front camera.

The Asus ZenFone 4 Selfie comes with a 5.5″ HD IPS display and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor and coupled with 4GB of RAM. The storage on this device is 64GB internal, the Asus ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro comes with a 5.5″ FullHD AMOLED Display which produces well saturated and vivid colors. The processor is also upgraded from the Asus ZenFone 4 Selfie, this device comes with either 3GB or 4GB variant and has a 64GB internal memory like the previous variant. Tha battery is pretty small at just 3000 mAh.

Asus ZenFone 4 Max, Asus ZenFone 4 Max Pro

The Asus ZenFone 4 Max series has always been all about the battery backup, they have a mammoth battery which lasts well over a day. Both the Asus ZenFone 4 Max and the Asus ZenFone 4 Max Pro comes with a 5000mAh battery. While the Asus ZenFone 4 Max comes with a 5.5″ LCD Display and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 and backed by either 2,3 or 4GB of RAM, the Pro variant surprisingly comes with either 2GB or 3GB variants. The Display on the Asus ZenFone 4 Max is up to 64GB while the Asus ZenFone 4 Max Pro has only 32GB Storage. Also, the display on these devices is just 720p HD and not FullHD. The camera on the Asus ZenFone 4 Max Pro is a 16MP+5MP wide angle shooter on the rear side and a 16MP front camera, the Asus ZenFone 4 Max has a 13MP + 5MP wide angle rear camera setup paired with an 8MP front camera.
