Honor 10 is official with 5.84-inch 19:9 display, dual-lens rear camera

Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has launched the company’s flagship smartphone, the Honor 10, in China on 19 April, 2018. The phone has a display with a notch on top and chin at the bottom, which houses the fingerprint scanner.

Honor 10 sports a 5.84 inch Full HD+ IPS LCD screen with a screen resolution of 2240 x 1080 pixels. The display covers 96% of NTSC color space and comes with a 2.5D curved glass on the top and a trendy 19:9 aspect ratio with a notch. The phone has a Octacore Hi-Silicon Kirin 970 chipset, with Mali-G72 MP12 GPU and 6 GB of RAM. It comes in two storage options, 64 GB or 128 GB of internal storage, and no support for microSD card slot. The phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with Huawei’s EMUI 8.1 on top.

Honor 10 Blue

For the cameras, the Honor 10 uses RGB + Monochrome (B/W) combination on the back, of which the 16 MP F/1.8 primary shooter is the RGB camera, whereas the monochrome camera is a 24 MP unit that gives you 2x zoom option. The rear cameras come with AI scene recognition that accurately identifies people, animals, grass, sky, and is accompanied by an LED flash. On the front, we get a 24-megapixel selfie camera with AI beautification and support for face unlock.

Apart from the Face unlock feature, the Honor 10 also has a fingerprint scanner to the front which uses Precise Biomatch software for fingerprint recogniton. The phone packs in a 3400 mAh battery which can be charged from 0%-50% in just 25 mins with the included 22.5W SuperCharge adapter. It also has IR blaster and supports Dual 4G VoLTE, dual band 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS NFC for connectivity. It comes with a 3.5 mm headphone jack which houses a AK4376A Hi-Fi DAC for 32-bit/192kHz audio playback and a Type C port for charging and USB OTG.

Colors, Pricing and Availability

The Honor 10 comes in Phantom Blue, Mirage Purple, Magic Night Black and Grey Gull colors. The Mirage Purple color is achieved by applying several layers of NCVM optical coatings underneath the glass back. The 64 GB variant is priced at CNY 2599 (USD 413.02/ INR 27,284) while the 128 GB model would cost CNY 2999 (USD 476.59/ INR 31,483) and are available for pre-order starting from 19th April to 26th April. The sale begins on April 27,2018.
