Moto G5, G5 Plus detailed specifications revealed ahead of MWC 2017

Motorola Moto G5 and G5 Plus smartphone are set to go official very soon, as we all already know. The company will launch these smartphones during the MWC 2017 event that is going to kick-start in the coming week. Though we are aware of most of the specifications of the Moto G5 and G5 Plus, thanks to various leaks over the past couple of weeks. We are yet to know the complete specifications list of both these smartphones. Today the full specifications list and press images of both the Moto G5 and G5 Plus have surfaced on a retail site.

As you can see from the press shots, the Moto G5 and G5 Plus have a metal unibody design with Moto and Lenovo branding. The Motorola Moto G5 is expected to sport a 5-inches Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display with Corning Gorilla Glass three protection. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC clocked at 1.4GHz Octa-Core 64-bit processor with Adreno 505 GPU coupled with 2GB RAM and 32GB internal memory with a microSD card slot for memory expansion.

Moto G5

The Motorola Moto G5 will run on Android 7.0 Nougat right out of the box. Moving on to the camera department, the device features a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, PDAF and can record Full HD 1080p videos. On the front, it has a 5-megapixel shooter with OmniVision OV5693 sensor. It comes with Water repellent nano-coating and Front-ported loudspeaker. Connectivity features include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS. A 2800mAh battery is on board for all battery requirements.

Moving along, the Moto G5 will have a bigger brother, the Moto G5 Plus which is expected to pack a 5.2-inches Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display with Corning Gorilla Glass three protection. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC clocked at 2GHz Octa-Core processor with Adreno 506 GPU. It comes in two different variants, one with 2GB and another one with 4GB RAM. However, the internal storage remains the same on both with 64GB that is expandable via a microSD slot. The G5 Plus will run on Android 7.0 Nougat right out of the box.

In the camera department, it packs a 12-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, Dual-Pixel Autofocus, Sony IMX362 sensor, f/1.7 aperture and 4K video recording. On the front, the same 5-megapixel shooter with OmniVision OV5695 sensor, f/2.2 aperture is present. The Moto G5 Plus will come with Water repellent nano-coating, Fingerprint sensor, Front-ported loudspeaker. Connectivity features include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4 GHz + 5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC. A 3000mAh battery with Turbocharging is on board.

Motorola’s Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus event is set for February 26th at 4:30 PM CET (9:00 PM IST) at the MWC 2017 in Barcelona.
