OnePlus 5T is official with a 6-inch display – What’s new?

OnePlus has officially launched the OnePlus 5T, with certain noticeable differences and upgrades from the OnePlus 5 that was launched earlier this year. While the phone comes with the 6-inch Full Optic AMOLED Display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, the internal specifications remain the same as the OnePlus 5T is powered by the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and there are variants with the same amount of RAM and storage as they were on the OnePlus 5.

The Optic AMOLED display has a new Sunlight Display that adapts to the harsh light to keep the viewing experience good. Users can calibrate their screens based on their viewing preferences across four different modes, including default, sRGB, DCI-P3 and adaptive. Now, since the screen has got larger and there is a little space left on the top and bottom front, the fingerprint sensor on the phone has gone to a new place – the back of the device. To compensate with that, OnePlus has included a fast face unlock feature that helps unlock your phone in just 0.4 seconds.

OnePlus 5T Dash Camera

It is the OxygenOS interface based on Android Nougat that is running in the OnePlus 5T, and while the Android Oreo update is slated for early 2018, the Beta version of it will be available by this year end. One of the major changes in the device is with the camera combination on the back. The OnePlus 5T features the same main camera as that of the OnePlus 5 but boasts an improved secondary camera equipped with a large f/1.7 aperture for superior low light photography. The company also boasts a better Portrait mode to improve the noise reduction.

The battery capacity is kept the same at 3300 mAh and there is the Dash Charge support that gives about a day’s usage with just 30 minutes charge.
