Samsung Galaxy On8 with 6-inch HD+ Super AMOLED display launched in India

Samsung has launched their latest smartphone in their On-series range, the Samsung Galaxy On8, today, in India. The smartphone has specifications similar to the Galaxy J8, which was launched a few months ago. The phone comes with a tall Infinity display and dual rear cameras.

The Samsung Galaxy On8 sports a 6-inch HD+ Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440×720 pixels. A 2.5D curved glass covers the 18.5:9 Infinity display. Powering the phone is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset with Adreno 506 GPU. It comes with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB of internal storage, expandable up to 256 GB via a microSD card. The phone runs on Android 8.0 Oreo with Samsung’s custom UI on top.

The Galaxy On8 features a dual camera setup on the back, with a 16 MP primary snapper that sits behind a f/1.7 lens, while the secondary camera is a 5 MP unit with a f/1.9 aperture. The rear cameras offer options such as Portrait Dolly, Portrait Backdrop and also lets users change the background Bokeh shape. The preloaded Samsung Mall app uses the rear camera to allow users search for their desired product across major e-commerce platforms, through a simple photo click. To the front, the phone comes with a 16 MP selfie camera that sits behind a f/1.9 lens.

The Samsung Galaxy On8 packs in a 3500 mAh battery underneath. The Dual SIM phone has support for 4G VoLTE, dual-band 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS, and ANT+.

For security, the Samsung Galaxy On8 comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner as well as face unlock. The phone comes with a 3.5mm audio jack, as well as FM Radio.

Pricing and Availability of Samsung Galaxy On8

The Samsung Galaxy On8 comes only in Black and Blue colors. The pricing of the phone is set at INR 16,990 and will be available exclusively via Flipkart and Samsung Online Shop, starting August 6, 2018. It comes with offers such as No Cost EMI, Special Data Offers and more.
