Samsung has launched the successor of the J2 2017, the Samsung J2 2018, on April 26, in New Delhi. The phone comes with a Super AMOLED display and 8 MP rear camera.

The J2 2018 sports a 5″ qHD Super AMOLED display with a 960x540pixel resolution. The phone still uses a 16:9 display, with thick bezels on all sides. The phone is powered by an unknown Snapdragon processor. It has 2 GB RAM and 16 GB storage, which can be expanded up to 256 GB using a microSD card. The phone runs on an unknown version of Android OS.

There’s an 8 MP camera on the back with an LED flash. To the front, we get a 5 MP camera with a LED flash, to brighten up your selfies. The phone can record videos at 1080p resolution at 30 fps. The rear camera can be used for visual search on Samsung Mall as well.

“Galaxy J2 2018 reiterates Samsung’s commitment towards meaningful innovations that delight our customers. For this device, we focussed on two trends amongst Indian youth – the growth of online shopping and high usage of Social media platforms. Samsung Mall uses artificial intelligence to revolutionize the way customers shop online with a visual search. For avid social media users, Samsung’s proprietary ‘Move to Memory Card’ feature is an advanced memory management solution that de-clutters the internal memory, thereby enhancing the smartphone experience.” Sumit Walia, Director, Mobile business, Samsung India, said.

The J2 is powered by a 2600 mAh battery which can be charged through the micro USB port. The phone supports Bluetooth 4.2, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi. The phone only comes with Accelerometer, Proximity sensor and skips on Ambient light sensor and compass.
