Oppo has launched the A83 2018 edition today at an event in New Delhi. The new phone is a minor revision to the January 2018 released the original A83 smartphone, with a new 18:9 display which is the first for the A-series.
The A83 2018 sports a 5.7″ IPS LCD display with the new 18:9 display and 1440x720p resolution. The phone is powered by the Helio P23 chipset paired with Mali G2 MP1 GPU. The 2018 version comes with upgraded RAM and storage capacities at, 4 GB and 64 GB, respectively. The phone also comes with a dedicated microSD card slot, using which you can upgrade the storage up to an extra 256 GB. The phone runs on dated Android 7.1.1 with Color OS 3.2 on top.
The A83 comes with a 13 MP F/2.2 shooter with a pixel size of 1.12 um and a rear camera that has an 8 MP camera with a F/2.2 aperture. Both the cameras on the phone can shoot 1080p videos at 30 fps. The main feature of the new A83 is the inclusion of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Beauty Recognition Technology, which was first seen the A71.

The phone lacks a fingerprint scanner but does come with facial unlock feature. The A83 2018 packs in a 3180 mAh battery that can be topped up via the micro USB port. The phone comes with 4G VoLTE support, Bluetooth 4.1, dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi, GPS for connectivity. The phone has a 3.5 mm headphone jack as well.
Pricing and Availability
The Oppo A83 comes in three new colors – Champagne, Blue & Red. The phone is priced at Rs 15,990 and is available online across three major e-tailers Amazon, Flipkart and Paytm and as well as in offline stores.
