Meet UMIDIGI Crystal – A bezel-less smartphone priced at $99

There were flagship smartphones, and then there were flagships in a budget, and later, budget smartphones with flagship-like features. Similarly, the budget options have started arriving for every kind of smartphone, including the bezel-less ones. After the initial push by some brands in the bezel-less space, some of the Chinese OEMs have started coming out with much affordable options. One of them is the UMIDIGI Crystal.

The UMIDIGI Crystal has a Sharp Full-Screen with the 5.5-inch Full HD display on the front and it has a 2.5D curved arc glass. The screen has the Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. Even the back of the phone has a glass cover and there is a fingerprint scanner offered on the back, just below the camera. While an octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz powers the phone, there are variants with 16GB or 64GB storage and 2GB or 4GB of RAM respectively. The lower storage variant is priced at $99. The device runs Android Nougat out of the box.

Also, it isn’t only the bezel-less display that is the attractive part of the phone. The UMIDIGI Crystal also boasts a dual-lens camera combination with the 13-megapixel and 5-megapixel cameras on the back. This combination is placed to measure the depth of field. Just like is the case with the other bezel-less devices, the UMIDIGI Crystal has the front camera towards the bottom. To run the device, there is a 3000 mAh battery included and it has the USB Type-C connectivity along with the other standard connectivity options. There is support for Quick Charge as well.

While the phone will be available later, the pre-registration for the phone begins from 12 PM CET on 15th of August in China.
