Xioami India has started inviting the press to an upcoming event that is scheduled to happen on July 18th, and the content on the invite does suggest about the next big smartphone that is launched in China already, the Xiaomi Mi Max 2.
“Last year, we made ripples with this new category and now it is back. Join us in witnessing the return of “BIG” at Xiaomi Media Briefing.
The Xiaomi Mi Max was launched last year with the price of Rs. 14999 and the Prime variant with better RAM and storage was priced at Rs. 19999. For what was offered, including the 4800 mAh battery, the phablet was an excellent one for those who wanted a smartphone that has a screen large enough to replace a need for a tablet device and still offer everything that a smartphone should. In our review (check Xiaomi Mi Max Review, we did mention how this was one of the best devices ever made and how much did it offer for the price, and the Mi Max 2 would be entering the Indian market with a good set of specifications.
Having the same screen size of 6.44-inch and a Full HD resolution, the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 has the Qualcomm MSM8953 Snapdragon 625 processor that powered by the Redmi Note 4 smartphone. Along with that is 4GB of RAM and two variants will be available based on the storage, i.e. 64GB and 128GB. A 12 MP, f/2.2 camera is present on the back of the device and on the front is a 5-megapixel camera. While Xiaomi doesn’t have any compromises with the other specs of the device, one of the big highlights of the phablet again will be its battery, with the Mi Max 2 having a 5300 mAh battery, which is a higher capacity than what was in its predecessor.
Also, this time, the Mi Max 2 will be having the USB Type-C connectivity and there is 4K video recording support for the rear camera. While there is nothing mentioned about the price, it is expected to go on sale for the price between Rs. 18000 and Rs. 20000. We will be live from the event and will update as soon as we get to know more about the price.
