Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 with 9.7-inch display, S Pen announced at MWC 2017

Gone are the days when Samsung used to launch tablets more often, but today at the MWC 2017 event that is going on in Barcelona, Samsung has launched the Galaxy Tab S3; a successor to the 2015’s Tab S2. It sports a huge 9.7-inches SUPER AMOLED display and full glass back falling in-line with the Galaxy smartphones.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 Specifications:

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 sports a 9.7-inches QXGA (2,048 x 1,536) Super AMOLED display that supports HDR video. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC clocked at 2.15GHz Quad-Core processor with Adreno 530 GPU coupled with 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. It comes with a microSD card slot for memory expansion up to 256GB. The Tab S3 runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with TouchWiz U.I out of the box.

The Tab S3 also comes with a new S Pen which is larger and thicker and a new 0.7mm tip. It supports all kinds of S Pen features like taking notes, taking screen shots, and recording GIFs from videos. This Stylus functionality was not seen on the Galaxy Tab S2. The company is also offering an optional keyboard case that can be attached to the bottom of the tablet via a pogo pin. It doesn’t need to be charged Unlike many Bluetooth keyboards in the market.

Moving to the camera, the Tab S3 packs a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera for video calls. There is also a Fingerprint reader for extra device security. Connectivity features include 4G LTE (optional), Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi 802.11 ac Dual-band MIMO, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, GLONASS, USB 3.1 Type-C. A 6000mAh battery with Fast Charging support is on board.

Pricing and Availability: Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 comes in Black and Silver colors and is priced at  679 Euros (US$ 717 / Rs. 47,785 approx.) for the WiFi only variant and the LTE variant costs you 769 Euros (US$ 812 / Rs. 54120 approx.) in Europe. The Tab S3 will be released in the coming weeks. Samsung also announced the Samsung Galaxy Book 2-in-1 device at the event.
