Reliance Jio was nothing short of a sensation in India even before it’s official launch. Thanks to unlimited free usage of data and voice call offer; it got the fame and attention of the Indian in a very short span. The company clocked over 50 million subscribers in a span of 83 days in less than three months after its full-fledged 4G services launch which was on Sept 5th, 2016. Jio could get 1000 new customer every minute and around 6 lakh customers every day since it’s official launch.

The number though is half of the target that was set by Mukesh Ambani, head of Reliance Industries.

With this in line, Jio is now the fastest growing company in the world which over crossed 50 million subscribers in record 83 days. It took Airtel around 12 years and 13 years for both Idea and Vodafone to achieve this feat. Jio is now the biggest competitor to Airtel, Idea, and Vodafone. Jio has one fifth of the subscriber base of Bharti Airtel which had over  262.67 million mobile subscribers back in October. According to the data collected from COAI, Vodafone has 201.90 million and Idea Cellular with 180.25 million subscribers. Achieving 6 lakh customers per day is a rare feat for any customer-facing company including Whatsapp, Facebook, and Skype.

Thanks to the Jio Welcome Offer which includes free voice calls, free data usage(4G speed up to 4GB daily) and free access to wide Apps suite of Jio Apps. The Welcome offer will end by December 31st, but there are many reports that it might get extended till March 2017 according to few reports. If the welcome does end after December 31st, the Jio tariff plans start at Rs.19 a day and Rs.149 per month, However, voice calls and roaming services to remain free forever.
