Maruti Suzuki unveils Concept Future-S at Auto Expo 2018

Not surprisingly, the Auto Expo 2018 started with the session from Maruti Suzuki showing off the Concept Future-S car with a focus on the design evolution. Coming with a smooth flowing design, the car is said to be the first attempt from the company for a car of this size and this defines the design of next generation compact vehicles.

While a lot is being talked about the exterior of the car that does have many differences from the company’s own cars of the past, the interiors look futuristic. A flat bonnet on the front, mildly raked windscreen and high ground clearance give it the traits of an SUV of the current day, and the Concept Future-S also comes with features like suicide doors and a spherical touchscreen display, keeping up with the modern day needs.

“The Concept Future-S has the potential to redefine the next generation of compact vehicles in India”, says Ayukawa San – MD and CEO of MSIL. But while we throw praises at the car, we hope the exterior and interior stay the same and there’s not much changed when the car goes into final production as the interior speaks a lot about how Maruti Suzuki is transforming their design language.

The car is expected to hit the market by 2020 if it goes as planned, and the Brezza-like size keeps it in the compact SUV lineup. The face area with the headlamps, foglamp, and the grille on the bumper don’t match any car from the company, and that is what sets the new design standards.
