Panasonic Lumix G85 and Lumix G7 mirrorless cameras launched in India

Panasonic India has launched two new 4K cameras, G7 and G85, today in an event in New Delhi. The new cameras are launched in Digital Single Lens Mirrorless (DSLM) category. Both the cameras use the company’s new Venus engine image processor, which has quad-core CPU that enables high speed signal processing.

Panasonic Lumix G85 comes with 16 MP Digital Live MOS sensor with 5-axis Dual IS(Image Stabilizer). The new Venus image processor allows the camera to capture crisp and high resolution images with high contrast. The G85 is said to boast an impressive color reproduction and ISO sensitivity up to 25600. The camera can record 4K videos at maximum resolution of 3840x2160p at 30p/25p (50 Hz area), 30p(60 Hz Area) or 24p in MP4. It contains other features like RAW data development in Camera, Multiple Exposure, Time Lapse Shot / Stop Motion Animation.

The G7 has an articulable 3.0-inch , approx. 1040K-dot touchscreen. With almost 100% Field of View(FoV) and a tiltable screen shooting high and low angles on the G85 would be easier. The camera features a 2360k Dot high resolution OLED LVF(Live View Finder) with 1.48x / 0.74x (35mm equivalent)magnification capability. In panning shots, the user can simply set the viewing angle to start and end with to get smooth panning without using any special equipment like a slider.The LUMIX G85 is said to be capable of real-time image output to the external monitor/recorder via HDMI simultaneously while recording video.

The G7 features a 16.00-megapixel Digital Live MOS Sensor that achieves both higher resolution and higher sensitivity image recording with minimum noise. It is capable of recording smooth, high-resolution QFHD 4K video in 3840x2160p resolution at 25p (50Hz) or 24p in MP4, thanks to the new Venus image processor. The camera will have an ISO range up to 25600. The new image processor enables the sensor to capture fast moving subject in bursts up to 8 fps(AFS) / 6 fps(AFC). The G7 takes advantage of 4K video recording performance, and lets users capture the photos at 30 fps in 8-megapixel equivalent resolution.

For connectivity,The Lumix G7 has features like easy wireless connectivity via Wi-Fi with smartphones, 3.5mm Microphone Socket. It also features Focus Peaking, Creative Control with 22 Filters, Time Lapse Shot / Stop Motion Animation functions. The G7 has a 3-inch tiltable screen with 1040K-dot high resolution and a 100% field of view (approx).

The G85 weighs 435 gms for body only, while the G7 body alone weighs 360 gms. The G85 is said to have a rugged design making it splash and dustproof. The Lumix G85 will cost you INR 72,990 and the Lumix G7 is priced at INR 53,990. The Lumix G7 also, comes with dual kit option of 1442 mm + 45150 mm at INR 58,990. The camera models will be available at all Panasonic stores across the country.
