Lenovo K5 Note FAQ – Everything you wanted to know

The all new smartphone Lenovo, the Lenovo Vibe K5 Note is launched and is available exclusively on Flipkart, for the price of Rs. 11999 for the 3GB RAM variant and Rs. 13499 for the 4GB RAM variant. Now you know that Lenovo has launched this phone in the ever competitive mid-range category and there are a lot of phones that compete with this already.

Where and from when is the phone going to be available?

The Vibe K5 Note is going to be available on Flipkart, and it will be sold exclusively there. The sale begins at 23:59 hours on August 3rd.

What is the display type and resolution on the Lenovo K5 Note?

The Lenovo Vibe K5 Note comes with a 5.5-inch display that is the IPS LCD type display, and the resolution is Full HD, i.e. 1920 x 1080 pixels, giving the phone a pixel density of 401 PPI.

What’s the processor that powers the phone?

The K5 Note is powered by MediaTek Helio P10, i.e. MT6755 octa-core processor that clocks at 1.8 GHz. It is a 64-bit chipset that is supported by Mali T860 MP2 GPU.

What are the RAM and storage options?

While Lenovo has offered no variants based on the internal storage (fixed at 32GB), there are two variants based on the RAM capacity available – 3GB and 4GB.

What are the camera features of the K5 Note?

The phone comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera with the 1.4um pixel size that allows more light in for brighter photos, and there is Phase-detection autofocus for faster and accurate focusing. The back camera is assisted by LED flash and it can record 1080p videos.

On the front, the K5 Note offers an 8-megapixel camera for selfies and video calling. It has a 77-degree lens for selfies.

Yes, just like how the K4 Note had, the new phone also has the support for TheaterMax technology and there is a VR headset offered from the same ANT VR company. This time, there is also a controller being sold separately for taking advantage of the technology.

Does the phone offer a MicroSD card slot?

Yes, you can expand the storage on the phone by using a MicroSD card for the same. The maximum expandable storage supported here is 128GB.

Is there a USB OTG supported available in the K5 Note?

Yes, there is support for the On-the-go drives so you can easily transfer files from and to the device without having to connect it to the PC or wirelessly transfer them.

 

What about the Audio output support on the phone?

Lenovo has always been working on offering good audio support on its smartphones. The K5 Note comes with a 1W speaker unit and there’s Wolfson WM8281 audio codec, Dolby Atmos technology for the audio output. Also, for the audio input, there is a 3-array microphone system.

Does the Vibe K5 Note support 4G connectivity? If yes, what are the bands supported?

Both the SIM slots support 4G SIMs and the LTE bands that are supported include FDD-LTE B1/B3/B5/B7/B8/B20, and TDD-LTE B38/B40/B41.

Does the phone have FM radio support?

Yes, there is support for FM Radio on the phone.

Is there a fingerprint scanner available for security?

Yes, Lenovo has included a fingerprint scanner on the back of the phone for the security and unlocking of the phone without having to touch the screen. It is said to be a faster scanner than what was in the Lenovo K4 Note and it takes 0.3 seconds for the recognition of the fingerprint.

Can I move my apps to the MicroSD card to free up storage on the K5 Note?

Yes, you can do that as the UI allows transferring apps from internal storage to MicroSD card.

Which is the Android version running on the K5 Note?

The Lenovo K5 Note runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS and it is having the Vibe UI from Lenovo, said to be one of the lightest UIs available for Android.

What is Secure Zone, a feature given on the phone?

It is basically a feature that allows you to have two instances of anything running in the device. For example, using Secure Zone, you can run two WhatsApp accounts on the same device, which is not possible normally.

What is the battery capacity offered by the device?

The K5 Note has a 3500 mAh battery and it is said to offer 364 hours of standby time on 4G and 18 hours of talk time on 3G network.

What are the major competitors or alternatives to K5 Note?
