Alongside the Nova 3, the Chinese smartphone maker, Huawei, has also launched their latest smartband, the Huawei Talkband B5, today, in China. The B5 doubles as a Bluetooth headset when taken out of the strap. The Talkband B5 comes as a successor of 2016 launched Talkband B3.
Huawei Talkband B5
The Huawei Talkband B5 features a 1.13-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 300×160 pixels. Covering the touchscreen is the 2.5D curved glass.
The Talkband B5 can track all your essential activities, such as your steps, distance, calories burnt and sleep patterns. It also has features such as sports goal setting, message reminder, smart alarm clock, a sedentary reminder. The band alerts the user reminding to exercise or walk if the user has been sitting idle for a long time.
The sleep patterns are tracked and analyzed through Huawei TruSleep 2.0 technology which uses Cardiopulmonary Coupled dynamics spectrum. Based on its analysis, the device can offer personalized sleep recommendations.
The heart rate can be monitored for 24-hours through the Huawei TruSeen 2.0 technology. It also comes with Huawei TruRelax technology which can provide you with your stress status by monitoring your heart rate variability.
The Talkband B5 can double as a Bluetooth headset and be used for making calls. It comes with a trip-core audio chip which provides High Definition voice support. A pair of microphones with noise reduction support help achieve the High Definition voice support. The device has Caller ID support with Call muting and as well as speed dialing option.
For connectivity, the band uses Low Energy Bluetooth 4.2 and is compatible with any device running on Android 4.4 or later and iOS 8.0 or later. For durability, the smartband is rated IP67 dust and water resistance.
The Talkband B5 Active Smartband comes with a massive 1080 mAh battery which offers up to 3.5 days of battery life and 6 hours of talk-time. The device alone weighs 40 gms, excluding the strap.
Pricing and Availability of Huawei Talkband B5
The Huawei Talkband B5 comes in two variants of straps – Business and Sports. The Business variant comes only with a metal strap, whereas the sports variant comes in Ash Black and Brown colored straps. The pricing of the Talkband B5 will be announced on July 18 and will go on sale starting from July 20. For now, the device is only available for pre-order.
