Huawei Nova 3 with 6.3-inch FHD+ screen, Kirin 970, Dual Cameras launched in China

Huawei has launched their latest smartphone in their Nova series, the Huawei Nova 3, today, in China. The new smartphone comes with Huawei’s flagship chipset with GPU turbo technology.

Display

The Nova 3 from Huawei comes with a 6.3-inch notched FHD+ IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 2340×1080 pixels. The display cover 85% of NTSC color space and has a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. A 3D curved glass covers the screen.

Processor, RAM & Storage

Powering the phone is the Huawei’s homegrown HiSilicon Kirin 970 chipset with Mali-G72 MP12 handling the graphics. The phone comes with i7 co-processor along NPU and GPU Turbo Technology. It comes with 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB or 128 GB of internal storage. There’s also room for storage expansion up to 256 GB through a microSD card slot. The phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with EMUI 8.2 on top.

Cameras

As for the cameras, the Nova 3 comes with a dual camera combination on both the back and the front. There’s a 16 MP primary camera with a f/1.8 aperture and a 24 MP secondary camera with the same f/1.8 lens on top. The camera comes with AI scene recognition that can detect over 500 screens
To the front, the phone greets you with a 24 MP front-facing camera with an f2/.0 aperture and a secondary 2 MP camera, both housed in the notch.

Miscellaneous

Battery & Connectivity
The Nova 3 packs in a massive 3750 mAh battery which supports fast charging. The phone has support for Dual 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 4.2 LE.

Security
The phone comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. It also comes with a face unlocking which uses the front-facing cameras as well an Infrared Light, similar to the iPhone X.

3D Qmoji
Huawei has also introduced 3D Qmojis which are Huawei’s take on Animated Emojis. The phone recognizes the face data and recreates/imitates the user’s expression.

Pricing and Availability of Huawei Nova 3

The Huawei Nova 3 comes in Black, Blue, Gold and Purple colors. The phone is available for pre-order on Vmall. The pricing will be released on July 18, while the sale starts from July 20, 2018.
