Alcatel MoveTime – Track & Talk Smartwatch launched for Rs. 4799

A new kid-focused smartwatch named the Alcatel MoveTime is launched to not just track the kid’s location but also help the parent to communicate with them. The MoveTime – Track & Talk smartwatch also helps the kid to communicate with the pre-approved contacts, and the GPS functionality in it helps in tracking the location for safety.

The Alcatel MoveTime comes with a OLED 0.95-inch single white color (96*64) display and it is compatible with both iOS and Android operating systems. There is Bluetooth support and it is a touchscreen. The watch is powered by the Nucleus operating system and the 370 mAh battery in it is capable of offering a talk time of about 2 hours on a single charge cycle, and the battery can be fully charged in about 90 minutes. The standby time offered by the MoveTime watch is about four days.

One of the important features of the smartwatch is the SOS functionality that helps send signals to the parents in panic situations and any calls from strangers are blocked. About 10 contacts can be pre-selected to receive calls from, and five contacts can be set to make calls to from the watch. It supports 2G connectivity and the other options include Wi-Fi, and within 60 seconds, the cloud service helps track the location of the child.

The parent can set a pre-determined safe area, and they are notified through the app whenever the kid enters or leaves the area. The watch is IP65 rated for water and dust resistance. Some of the other features of the Alcatel MoveTime watch include the following.

  • Voice messaging with recording of up to 15 seconds, and this can be sent to a group or individually.
  • Saving power – Here, there are settings to have different positioning systems working together, so to save power, the watch would ask you to rely on lesser options.
  • Mute Time – This is to set the reminder function for anything on the watch.

Commenting on the launch, Mr. Krishan Kalra- Business Head- E Commerce, Alcatel India, said, “The Indian IoT market size is estimated to be around $300 billion by 2020 grabbing a 20% share of the worldwide IoT market. With more than 40% of our population below the age of 15, there is a strong need for safety and tracking wearable devices in the country. With children today being the digital natives, our Smart Watch ensures that parents stay connected to their kids 24×7 with this attractively designed and power efficient wireless GPS enabled watch that supports calling and GPS tracking.” He also added, “Going forward our aim is to be a major player in the growing market with our focused IoT products and services. We are gearing up to launch newer variants targeting Kids Safety in the growing Android smart watch space.”

The Alcatel MoveTime smartwatch is priced at Rs. 4599 and it is available on Flipkart with different color options for the bands and the watch frame.
