Samsung had announced two new variants of the Gear S2 Classic 18k Rose Platinum and Rose Gold edition at this year’s CES earlier this month. The two smartwatch variants have been officially launched globally today. These variants are named 18k because of the rose gold plating and is available in Ivory Genuine Leather Band and the Platinum version comes with platinum along with Black Genuine Leather Band.
Last week Samsung had launched the Gear S2 and Gear S2 Classic smartwatches in India. The Galaxy Gear 2 18k Rose Gold and Platinum smartwatches come with additional themes like Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat by creative. Other apps land specialized watch face features like CNN and Bloomeber Gear S2 apps along with eBay, ESPN, Uber and Voxer. The smartwatch comes with a 1.2-inch Super AMOLED display having resolution of 360 x 360 with 302 ppi pixel density.
The Gear 2 smartwatch classic is powered by 1 GHz Dual-Core Exynos 3250 processor coupled with 512MB RAM and 4GB internal memory. It runs on Tizen based wearable platform OS. It comes with sensors like Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Heart Rate, Ambient Light and Barometer. The smartwatch comes with IP67 Certified Dust and Water Resistant rating. It has connectivity features like WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and NFC.
