ASUS ROG launches GL503 & GX501 laptops with 8th gen. Intel core processors

ASUS has launched two new gaming laptops in its Republic of Gamers (ROG) lineup – Asus ROG Zephyrus GX501 & Asus ROG Strix GL503, on April 19, 2018, at an event held in New Delhi. The GL503 & GX501 come loaded with powerful 8th Gen Intel Core processors & NVIDIA GTX 10 series graphic cards for unmatched performance. The two laptops comes with ASUS’s Patented Anti-Dust Cooling system that expels harmful dust particles to improve performance, stability and durability. The laptops have high refresh rates which gives immersive visuals & precision during intense gaming battle.

The ASUS ROG Zephyrus GX501 is the world’s thinnest gaming laptop that’s powered by the latest 8th Generation Intel Core i7 processor and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 (Max-Q) graphics, and while the Strix GL503 has the 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, it is relatively tame with an NVDIA 1050Ti GPU.

Asus ROG Zephyrus GX501

The Asus ROG Zephyrus GX501 is powered by the 8th Gen hexa-core Intel Core i7 8750HQ processor. The laptop has a 15.6” Full HD display, which uses an IPS panel that has a 144 Hz refresh rate and 3 ms response time. The laptop comes with up to 24 GB of DDR4 RAM clocked at 2666 MHz.

For the storage, the laptop can be configured up to 1 TB of fast NVMe SSD. The graphics is handled by NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 (Max-Q) GPU with 8 GB GDDR5X VRAM. The laptop has backlit Chiclet style keyboard with marked QWER/WASD keys. It comes with two-2 W speaker with Smart AMP technology.

For connectivity, the laptop comes with 1 USB-C 3.1 Gen2 ports over Thunderblot, 2 USB-A 3.1 Gen2 ports, 2 USB-A 3.1 Gen1 ports, 1 HDMI 2.0, 1 TypeC DisplayPort 1.2, a 3.5-mm audio jack, 1 Kensington lock, Bluetooth 4.1 support and Intel 802.11ac Gigabit Wave 2 Wi-Fi. The laptop is powered by a 50Wh battery and weighs around 2.2 Kg.

Asus ROG Strix GL503

The Asus ROG Strix GL503 is powered by the same 8th Gen hexa-core Intel Core i7 8750HQ processor, as the GX501. The laptop has a 15.6” Full HD display, which uses a TN panel that has a 120 Hz refresh rate and 3 ms response time. The laptop comes with up to 32 GB of DDR4 RAM clocked at 2666 MHz.

ASUS ROG GL503

For the storage, the laptop can be configured up to 256 GB of fast NVMe SSD and also a 1 TB FireCuda SSHD from Seagate to store your game library. The graphics is handled by NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB GDDR5 VRAM with 8 GB GDDR5 VRAM. The laptop has backlit Chiclet style keyboard, with 4 RGB zones and marked WASD keys. It comes with two-3.5W speaker with Smart AMP technology.

For connectivity, the laptop comes with 1 USB-C 3.1 Gen2 ports over Thunderblot, 3 USB-A 3.1 Gen1 ports, 1 HDMI 1.4, 1 Mini DisplayPort 1.2, a 3.5-mm audio jack, an Ethernet port, an SD card slot, 1 Kensington lock, Bluetooth 4.1 support and Intel 802.11ac Gigabit Wave 2 Wi-Fi. The laptop is powered by a 64 Wh battery and weighs around 2.5 Kg.
