Alongside the Pavilion Gaming 15 laptop, HP India has also announced new gaming laptops in it Omen series, the HP Omen 15, today, at an event in Delhi. The laptops are powered by 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processors with Nvidia GeForce GTX graphics.
HP Omen 15
The HP Omen 15 sports a 15.6-inch Full HD WLED backlit IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 1920×1080. The display has a 144 Hz refresh rate and a maximum brightness of 300 nits. There’s also a 4K UHD screen available, which only has 60 Hz refresh rate. All the screens come with an Anti-glare coating.
Powering the laptops are the Hexa-Core 8th Gen Core i7 8750H processors. The processors have a base frequency of 2.2 GHz and boost frequency of 4.1 GHz. As for the graphics, the laptops can be configured up from GTX 1050 Ti with 4 GB VRAM to GTX 1070 with 8 GB VRAM. The laptops come with up to 16 GB of RAM clocked at 2666 MHz. It comes with 128 GB of fast PCIe NVMe SSD storage for boot and 1 TB of HDD across all the variants.
The HP Omen 15 laptop comes with a Full-size standard backlit keyboard. The keyboard also has N Key Roll Over as well as zonal lighting with 4-zones of the backlight. It comes with an HP wide vision HD 88° wide HD camera with dual array digital microphone, for video and audio calling.
As for connectivity, the Omen 15 laptops come with 3 USB 3.1 Gen 1 (HP Sleep and Charge) port, 1 Thunderbolt™ 3 (Data up to 40Gb/s, HP Sleep and Charge) port, 1 Mini DisplayPort™, One Headphone-Out / Microphone-In Combo Jack, One RJ-45-NIC Gigabit Ethernet port, One HDMI v2.0 port and an SD card slot.
The HP Omen 15 uses an Intel® Wireless-AC 9560 chipset which includes wireless connectivity options such as Bluetooth 5.0, 802.11 b/g/n/ac dual-band Wi-Fi with 2×2 MU-MIMO support.
For the audio, the Omen 15 comes with dual stereo speakers which are Bang & Olufsen tuned. The laptop has Bang & Olufsen B&O PLAY DTS Studio Sound, HP Audio Boost 2.0 and DTS Headphone: X support.
The battery underneath is either a 52.5 WHr or 70 WHr unit, depending on the variant you choose. The battery supports fast charging. The laptop is 2.59mm thick and weighs 2.38 Kgs.
