Huawei announces Mate 20 Lite with 6.3-inch 19:9 display, Quad Cameras

After unveiling their flagship Kirin 980 SOC, Huawei has also announced their latest smartphone in their Mate-series, the Huawei Mate 20 Lite, today, at IFA 2018, in Berlin. The company has announced their mid-range offering, while the flagship Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro are left out for the October release. The Mate 20 Lite comes with a notched 19:9 display and Quad Cameras.

Huawei Mate 20 Lite

The Huawei Mate 20 Lite sports a 6.3-inch LTPS IPS LCD screen with a resolution of Full HD+ which is 1080×2340 pixels. The screen has a 19:9 aspect ratio, thanks to the notch. Powering the smartphone is the HiSilicon Kirin 710 chipset with Mali-G51 GPU handling the graphics. It comes paired with 4 Gigs of RAM and 64 Gigs of onboard storage, expandable up to 512 GB via a microSD card. The Mate 20 Lite runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with EMUI 8.2 on top.

For imaging, the Huawei Mate 20 Lite comes with Quad cameras, on both, the front and the rear, similar to the Huawei Nova 3 and Nova 3i smartphones. On the back, there’s a 20 MP primary camera with a f/1.8 aperture and a secondary depth sensing 2 MP unit, for portrait shots. To the front, the phone greets you with a 24 MP primary camera with f/2.0 aperture and 2 MP secondary camera, both of which are housed inside the notch.

A 3,750 mAh battery fuels the Mate 20 Lite, which has support for Huawei’s 18 W (9V 2A) SuperCharge technology, for fast charging. For connectivity, the phone offers 4G LTE, 802.11ac dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, GPS.

For security, the Huawei Mate 20 Lite comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, as well as facial recognition for unlocking. As for the ports, it includes a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a USB Type-C port. The phone is 7.2 mm thick and weighs 172 gms.

Pricing and Availability of Huawei Mate 20 Lite

The Huawei Mate 20 Lite comes in Black and Sapphire Blue colors. The phone would cost GBP 379 (INR 34,812 approx.) and will be available starting September 5th.
