MT7623 and MT7683 IoT chips along with MT7687 WiFi SoC – Specs & Features

Mediatek’s MT7623 and MT7683 chipset are the new ones from Mediatek and these are coming with the support for major Internet of Things standards, and both of these chipsets come with a premium quad-core CA7 platforms, which are capable of supporting 4×4 11ac retail and broadband routers, IoT gateway, Wi-Fi hotspots and media routers that use Linux OS.

These chipsets are said to be coming with MT7687 WiFi SoC, which is Mediatek’s first ARM Cortex M4 IoT Wi-Fi SoC which have an enhanced security engine. A fast and secure wireless experience is what the MT7623 and MT7683 chipsets provide, and according to the company, these two are the first gateways to allow IoT devices to work in smart homes.

Support content from sources like audio and visual content, through cable or Bluetooth connectivity
Support content from wearable devices via Bluetooth low energy
Support content from Guest mobile devices through Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections through tap-and-connect, as well as through NFC
Can serve as a central hub for home appliances to ensure complete solution for connected home
MT6723 – can deliver up to 2Gbps broadband service
MT6783 – World’s first AP router with Mali 450 GPU and HDMI/MIPI

  • 1Gbps VPN crypto engine

  • The low power consumption IoT gateway with DVFS enabled powerful Quad 1.3GHz CA7
  • Rich I/O sets: HDMI, MIPI, PCIe, USB3, USB2, SDIO, SPI, PWM, ADC, DAC, IR Rx, PCM and RGMII + TRGMII
  • WW 1st AP router with HDMI/MIPI support 1080P/60FP output and 720P touch panel
  • Built-in BT 4.1/BLE to connect BT speaker and wearable device
  • Seamless hardware engines at 2Gbps: NAT + QoS + SFQ
  • 1Gbps VPN crypto engine

The MT7623 and MT7683 will be available in Q3, 2015 and are expected in home connection solutions in late 2015.
