Netflix no longer supports rooted phones, to fight piracy

Netflix has made it into India after a lot of time, and it has attracted many of the users and is spreading good enough in all the countries. Meanwhile, what you can do with your Android smartphone is beyond limits. If you root your android phone, it can be very useful for many purposes such as getting access to some ultimate tweaks, use root access needed apps, hack into some games, and use many premium features for free. Maybe this is what influenced Netflix to remove the support. There are reports that many of the users are taking an advantage out of it by getting root access and watching Netflix without the subscription.

If you are wondering why you can’t download the Netflix app anymore, wait, Netflix has just confirmed that it won’t be available to install in any of the rooted Android phones. The new version 5.0 is out for this issue for preventing the piracy and all other such issues. This version of the app is totally based on Google’s Widevine digital rights. If you do not know, Netflix now has a feature to download the shows and watch them offline.

While Netflix claims that the app won’t be working in any of the rooted Android devices, Android Police claims that the app can still be installed by sideloading the APK. But yes, you’ll still be having your differences with the Google Services such as Android Pay with a rooted or bootloader unlocked smartphone.

There’s a reason for every user out there to root their phone. Either you must be willing to customize your phone to a great extent or you are willing to experience all those luxury apps by having the root access or maybe both. This might also concern many other app makers and it won’t be any late for them to implement anything like this.
