Netflix Launched in India with three plans starting from Rs. 500 per month

Netflix the video streaming service is available in India officially, it was launched in India and 130 other countries spread across Asia, Middle East and Europe.The plans for the service start from Rs. 500 and highest is Rs. 800 per month. The pricing is almost similar to the US subscription rates.

Netflix is available across 70 million homes worldwide till date and it is said that users have watched over 12 billion hours of Netflix video in just Q4 2015. With some of the major markets being targetted now the number can exponentially increase from now. China is the only major country which has been left out from the list.

Netflix in India plans and pricing

According to Netflix CEO Reed Hastings, they are planning to enter China as well shortly. There are three plans available – Basic, Standard and Premium details of which are seen in the image. With a huge collection of 35,000 movies and TV shows this has been an addiction till date. Netflix has even started producing their own TV shows under the banner Netflix Original Moniker. Some of the well known shows are House of cards, Jessica Jones etc. The company is also planning to start their own talk show as well starring Brad Pitt.

Netflix India Pricing

Netflix will be facing some competition by Star’s Hotstar, Hungama, Eros Now etc which have already entered the market with huge number as well as potential. It is said that in India there will be over 300 million internet users in the next few years along with the ever increasing population of 1.2 billion. With Netflix available over, TV, PC, Laptop, Smartphone etc it is a great alternative to regular TV.
