Nikon Z6, Z7 Full Frame 4K mirrorless cameras announced in India

Update (September 19, 2018):
Nikon has finally launched the Nikon Z7 and the Nikon Z6 Full frame mirrorless cameras in India, today. The cameras offer 4K Video recording and have an N-log color profile. Apart from the two cameras, Nikon has also launched three new Z-mount lenses, which includes, a 24-70mm f.4.0 lens, a 35mm f/1.8 lens, and 50mm f/1.8 lens.

Nikon has also announced the Nikon FTZ mount, allows you to use up to 92 existing F-mount lenses on to the mirrorless system, using the adapter. Nikon has released a lens roadmap, as well, to show their commitment towards the mirrorless camera system.

Pricing and Availability of Nikon Z7, Nikon Z6 and Z-lenses in India`

The pricing of the Nikon Z7 and the Nikon Z6 with the new FTZ mount and other newly launched Z-lenses is as follows:

Nikon Z6

1. Nikon Z6 Body Only: INR 1,69,950
2. Z6 + Z 24-70mm F/4 S + FTZ Kit: INR 2,26,950
3. Z6 + Z 24-70mm F/4 S: INR 2,14,950
4. Nikon Z6 + FTZ Kit: INR 1,81,950

Nikon Z7

1. Nikon Z7 Body Only: INR 2,69,950
2. Z7 + Z 24-70mm F/4 S + FTZ Kit: INR 3,26,950

Earlier (August 23, 2018): Nikon Z6, Z7 4K mirrorless cameras with Full Frame sensors announced
Nikon Inc. has today announced the launch of their latest Z-series of mirrorless cameras, the Nikon Z6 & the Nikon Z7. Both the cameras are capable of recording videos at a maximum resolution of 4K, i.e., 3840×2160 pixels.

Both the Nikon Z7 and Z6 have a similarly sized sensor which 35.9 mm × 23.9 mm. The cameras can record 120 fps slow-motion videos at 1080p. The Z7 and the Z6 use the Expeed 6 image processor which enables the two cameras to record at 4K resolution, as well as take 8K time-lapse photos.

The cameras come with a 3.2-inch tiltable touchscreen that has a 170° wide-viewing angle. There’s also a 3.69 million-dot OLED Electronic View Finder which offers up to 100% frame coverage and 0.8x of magnification. Thanks to the in-body image stabilization, the cameras come with 5-axis optical image stabilization with Nikon’s Vibration Reduction (VR).

The cameras are built with Magnesium alloy and come weather sealed to the same level as the company’s D850. The cameras are futureproofed, thanks to the inclusion of a USB Type C port. For wireless connectivity, the cameras come with built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chipset with direct transfer support.

The battery used on the cameras is the EN-EL15 unit, which offers up to 30 mins of video recording time. The cameras seamlessly integrate with Nikon’s DSLR eco-system of external accessories, which includes Nikon microphone, Nikon Wireless Remote shutter, and a flash, etc. The cameras weigh 585 gms (body only).

Nikon Z6

The Nikon Z6 features a 24.5 MP CMOS Full frame sensor. The Z6 can take burst shots up to a continuous 12 fps speeds. The sensor comes with up to 273 AF points and has an ISO range of 100-51200.

Nikon Z7

The Nikon Z7 comes with a 45.7 MP Full Frame CMOS sensor. The Z6 can only take burst photos at a maximum of 9 fps. The Z7’s sensor offers up to 493 AF points and has an ISO range of 64-25600.

Alongside these, the company has also launched three new Z-mount lenses which include a 24-70mm f.4.0, a 35mm f/1.8 and 50mm f/1.8. The company is also planning on launching a 50mm f/0.95 lens.

Pricing and Availability of Nikon Z6 & Z7 mirrorless cameras

The Nikon Z6 is priced at USD 2,000 (INR 1,40,210 approx.) (body only) while the Z6 with 24-70mm f/4 kit Z-Mount lens would cost you USD 2,600 (INR 1,82,273 approx.). The Nikon Z7, on the other hand, USD 3,400 (INR 2,38,360 approx.) (body only), while the Z7 with new Nikkor Z 24-70 f/4 S lens would set you back at USD 4,000 (INR 2,80,560 approx.).

  1. Both Nikon Z series Z6 & Z7 mirror less DSLR cameras offered some amazing features like capable of 4K recording while on other hand Z6 is like little brother of Z7 in the department of spec’s.
