OnePlus 3 Review Back

OnePlus 3T tipped with Snapdragon 821, Android Nougat

There have been a few rumors flowing around already about a variant of OnePlus 3 coming soon, and while it was earlier OnePlus 3s being called the expected name, now a new tip says that the upcoming better variant of the flagship from OnePlus might be called the OnePlus 3T. The big and first difference between the OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3T will be with the processor powering the devices.

It could be the Snapdragon 821 processor clocking at 2.4GHz that will power the upcoming device, while it was the Snapdragon 820 that powers the OnePlus 3. You can check the Snapdragon 821 vs. Snapdragon 820 comparison to see how the newer chipset is better.

The rumors could be well close to reality, for the reason that OnePlus won’t be working on any “X” series device since it is rested now as the company is now focusing only on one flagship series. Apart from this upgrade to the processor, another upgrade will be to the OS as the OnePlus 3T is expected to run Android 7.0 Nougat based OxygenOS.

While these will be the changes, nothing else might be different as the OnePlus 3T will thankfully have the same design, which is still one of the best this year, and there will be a similar battery capacity and support for dash charging. While we are hopeful of seeing this upgraded device anytime soon, there is no teaser or an indication from the company that they are going to come up with a new hardware.

It was recently also rumored that OnePlus is coming up with a smaller variant to the OnePlus 3, but the Chinese smartphone manufacturers called the rumors baseless, but there is no comment about the rumored OnePlus 3T.

  1. It seems like a marginal upgrade over the regular One Plus 3…hope they come up with a proper flagship device.
