After moving out from Oppo as a separate entity, Realme has announced their first smartphone, the Realme 2, today, in India. The smartphone was leaked and teased multiple times, before the launch. The Realme 2 comes with a notched display and a couple of other differences from the previously launched Realme 1. However, Realme has mentioned that the Realme 2 isn’t a successor to the Realme 1.
The Realme 2 sports a 6.2-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 1520×720 pixels. The 19:9 screen has an 88.8% screen-to-body ratio. Powering the smartphone is a Snapdragon 450 chipset with Adreno 506 GPU. It comes in two RAM and storage variants – 3 GB RAM with 32 GB storage & 4 GB RAM with 64 GB internal storage. There’s also a dedicated microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 256 GB. The phone runs on Color OS 5.1 based on top Android 8.1 Oreo.
In the camera department, the Realme 2 features a dual camera setup on the back. The phone comes with a 13 MP primary camera with f/2.2 aperture and a secondary 2 MP f/2.4 camera for capturing depth information for portraits. To the front, the phone features an 8 MP selfie shooter with a f/2.2 aperture. The phone offers modes such as AI Beautification 2.0, HDR on Selfie camera and Bokeh mode for portraits.
The Realme 2 packs in a massive 4230 mAh battery underneath. For connectivity, the Realme 2 comes with Dual VoLTE, 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2 LE & GPS. The phone also comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and face unlock option for security.
Pricing and Availability of Realme 2
The Realme 2 comes in Diamond Black, Diamond Red, and Diamond Blue Colors. The 3 GB RAM variant is priced at INR 8990, whereas the 4 GB RAM variant is priced at INR 10990. The phone will be available for purchase on Flipkart with the first sale on September 4th.
