Realme 2 Specs, Pictures, and Retail Packaging Leaked – Everything we know

Realme 2 launch

The Realme 2 is said to be powered by a Snapdragon SOC. Qualcomm India has confirmed that the upcoming smartphone from Realme will feature a Snapdragon SOC underneath the hood. However, it is still unknown which Snapdragon chipset will be used in it.

Apart from this, the Realme 2 will come with a massive 4230 mAh which is almost 24% increase from the Realme 1. While it’s confirmed that the battery has been increased from the previous generation one, the company hasn’t revealed whether the battery supports fast charging technology.

The company has also confirmed that the Realme 2 will feature a notched 6.2-inch display, Realme has also assured that the new device will have a significant increase in the screen-to-body ratio. The Realme 2 is confirmed to come with a 19:9 display and an 88.8% screen-to-body ratio.

In contrast, the Realme 1 came with a 6-inch 18:9 display, a MediaTek Helio P60 chipset & a smaller 3410 mAh battery. The Realme 2 will be launching on August 28, 2018.

Earlier (August 17, 2018): Design, Dual Cameras and Packaging
The yet-to-be-announced Realme 2 went live for a brief while on the official Indian website. The smartphone is the successor to the May launched Realme 1. The company which recently went independent from its parent company Oppo has already started working on the second iteration of the Realme 1.

The new leaked image shows the front and rear of the device in all its glory. The image also had a tagline which read ” A Notch Above” The Realme 2 comes with a notched display with thin bezels on all sides. The yet to be released smartphone will feature two significant changes apart from the notched display, which is, the inclusion of a fingerprint scanner and dual rear cameras. The Realme 1 was a great performer in almost every aspect, except for the single lens camera which was mediocre at best, as well as the lack of fingerprint scanner.

The image also shows the upcoming phone’s new color, which is Blue with a diamond design similar to the Realme 1’s diamond black’s back. Going by the looks of it, the phone might feature a similar fiber reinforced glass back as its predecessor. The Realme 2 has a similar design language as the Oppo F7.

For the uninitiated, the Oppo F7 comes with a notched 1080p+ display, Helio P60 chipset, a single rear-facing camera and a 3410 mAh battery. While the cameras aren’t similar to F7, the Realme 2’s rear camera do resemble with the recently launched Oppo F9 (Oppo F9 Pro in India) that launched in Malaysia and a couple of other Southeast Asian Countries.
