Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ launched in India, at Rs. 57900 and Rs. 64900

Samsung introduced the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus flagships at the Unpacked event last month, and today the company has launched the smartphones in India. The all new Samsung flagships feature an infinite display with ultra-slim bezels and also ditches the legendary home button to allocate real-estate to display.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Specifications:

The Samsung Galaxy S8 sports a 5.8-inches Quad HD+ (2960 × 1440 pixels) Super AMOLED Infinity display with 570ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It is powered by the Exynos 9 Series 8895 SoC Octa-Core processor with Mali-G71 MP20 GPU and packs 4GB LPDDR4 RAM with 64GB storage (UFS 2.1) and a microSD card slot for memory expansion. The device runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with new improved TouWiz U.I.

In the camera department, there is a 12-megapixel Dual Pixel rear camera with LED Flash, f/1.7 aperture, 1/2.55″ sensor size, OIS, 1.4µm pixel size and on the front, there is an 8-megapixel autofocus front-facing camera with f/1.7 aperture, 1/3.6″ sensor size, 1.22µm pixel size, 80-degree wide-angle lens. The Galaxy S8 feature Water and dust resistant (IP68), Ultra High-Quality Audio Playback, a Fingerprint sensor for extra security. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4/5GHz), VHT80 MU-MIMO, Bluetooth v 5.0 (LE up to 2Mbps), GPS with GLONASS, USB 3.1, NFC, MST. A 3000mAh battery with fast Charging both on wired and wireless (WPC and PMA) charging support is on board.

The Galaxy S8+ is the bigger variant of the duo, it sports a larger 6.2-inches Quad HD+ (2960 × 1440 pixels) Super AMOLED Infinity display with 570ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection and is powered by the same Exynos 9 Series 8895 SoC Octa-Core processor with Mali-G71 MP20 GPU. There is 4GB LPDDR4 RAM with 64GB storage (UFS 2.1) and a microSD card slot for memory expansion. Just like the S8, the S8+ also runs on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.

Even in the camera department, the S8+ packs the similar camera sensor, i.e., a 12-megapixel Dual Pixel rear camera with LED Flash, f/1.7 aperture, 1/2.55″ sensor size, OIS, 1.4µm pixel size. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel autofocus front-facing camera with f/1.7 aperture, 1/3.6″ sensor size, 1.22µm pixel size, 80-degree wide-angle lens for selfies and video chats. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4/5GHz), VHT80 MU-MIMO, Bluetooth v 5.0 (LE up to 2Mbps), GPS with GLONASS, USB 3.1, NFC, MST. A bigger 3500mAh battery with fast Charging both on wired and wireless (WPC and PMA) charging support is on board. There is a Fingerprint sensor present on the rear side and also comes with Water and dust resistant (IP68).

The Galaxy S8 is priced at Rs. 57900 and the Galaxy S8+ is priced at Rs. 64900.
