Acer has introduced two news smartphones under the Liquid series into the Indian market, the Liquid Z530 and the Liquid Z630s. Both the devices were launched in September during IFA earlier this year. Both the devices are being sold exclusively on Flipkart with Acer Liquid Z530 available immediately and the Liquid Z630s will be available from November 12th.
The Acer Liquid Z530 sports a 5-inch HD IPS OGS display having resolution of 720×1280 pixels, it is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor with 2GB of RAM and supported by 16GB of ROM expandable using microSD card up to 32GB. The device runs on Android Lollipop 5.1 OS.
The Liquid Z530 is touted as the perfect selfie smartphone at the time of the launch and to justify that the device sports a 8MP front and rear facing cameras with wide-angle lens. The device comes with 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth and Micro-USB connectivity options. It is powered by a 2420mAh battery.
The Acer Liquid Z630s sports a 5.5-inch HD IPS OGS display with resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels, the display has a Zero Air Gap screen. The device is powered by an Octa-core MediaTek MT6735 processor clocked at 1.3GHz coupled with 3GB of RAM. It has 32GB of internal memory and expandable using microSD card. It is powered by an impressive 4000mAh battery.
The same camera module is being used in the Liquid Z630s as the Z530 with 8MP front and rear facing cameras with wide angle lens and 1080p video recording support. It comes with 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and Bluetooth 4.0. Both the devices come with Dual-SIM 4G LTE support in India.
Both the smartphones will be manufactured in India under the Make in India initiative at the Puducherry plant from December. S.T. Liew, President, Smart Products Business Group, Acer, said, “Keeping at par with the Indian government’s Make-in-India initiative, we are excited to announce that these smartphones will be manufactured locally in India. The plant will be operational by December 2015 and will have production capacity of over 1 lakh phones per month. As the demand for the smartphones increase, the investment and production capacity of the plant will also be scaled up appropriately.”
Acer is giving a feature called as ‘Float Apps’ which is said to keep the apps restricted to a portion of the display making multitasking easier. There is another feature called AcerExtend which allows wireless connection with a compatible laptop or PC.
The Acer Liquid Z530 is priced at Rs. 6,999 and the Liquid Z630s costs Rs. 10,999. The Liquid Z530 is available for sale on Flipkart from today and the Acer Liquid Z630s will be available for purchase in a flash sale on November 12. The registration for the flash sale will be starting from Thursday.
