Gionee Marathon M5 with 6020mAh battery set to launch in India on 24th Nov

Gionee is all set to launch the Marathon M5 smartphone in India, the date for the launch is set at Tuesday, November 24th. The 6020mAh powered Gionee Marathon M5 was launched into the market in China earlier this year. This is going to be the newest addition to the Marathon series from Gionee which is mainly about the battery.

The 5.5-inch HD AMOLED display sporting Marathon M5 comes with a massive 6020mAh battery with two 3010mAh batteries, the company promises the batteries to last up to 4 days. With the huge battery at offer which is more than the normal power bank, the company has included reverse charging which lets users charge other devices with the Marathon M5.

Gionee Marathon M5 launch in India

The Marathon M5 also comes with some decent specifications along with the massive battery. It sports a 5.5-inch HD AMOLED display with resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels resolution. It is powered by a 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6735 64-bit SoC supported by 2GB of RAM. The device comes with 16GB of internal built-in storage which can be expanded up to 128 GB using microSD card.

The Marathon M5 measures 152x76x8.55mm in dimensions which is quite slim for a smartphone with 6020mAh battery put into it, the device weighs 214 grams a bit on the bulkier side. It sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and autofocus along with a 5-megapixel front facing camera.

With Gionee sending out invites for the launch event on November 24th to be held in Bengaluru, we can expect the device to be available at a price of Rs. 23,000 approximately as it was launched at CNY 2,299 in China when it was launched in June earlier this year along with the Elife E8.
