Gionee has launched their latest smartphone, the W909 flip phone which is the company’s first Flip smartphone with dual touchscreens. The W909 is not the first flip phone with dual screens but is the first flip phone with Fingerprint sensor and USB Type-C port. The smartphone has been launched in China on Tuesday, and is already up for pre-orders in the country.
The Gionee W909 sports a metal body and comes with a leather covering on the back to give it a premium feel and look. The device sports dual 4.2-inch HD IPS displays with resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels, the outer display is protected by 2.5D glass. The device is powered by an Octa-core MediaTek MT6755M processor coupled with 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 64GB inbuilt storage out of which 12GB is taken up by the OS and 52GB is available for users.

The Gionee W909 comes with 16-megapixel rear camera with PDAF and LED flash along with a 5MP front facing camera. The Gionee W909 sports a T9 keyboard with physical buttons which has almost become extinct in smartphones these days. You can also have an on-screen keyboard if you wish to. The device comes with a Fingerprint sensor which is said to unlock the device in just 0.38 seconds located below the Camera and LED flash on the back of the device.
The Gionee W909 is backed by 2530mAh battery which is said to give 29.7 hours of talk time and 408 hours of standby time. It measures 124.1×62.8×16.5mm in dimensions and weighs 207 grams. Samsung also has a Flip phone in its line up – Samsung G9198 Flip Phone which also sports dual display and powered by Snapdragon 808 SoC.
The Gionee W909 is available in Rose Gold color only and pre-orders have started in China with a price tag of CNY 3,999 which is approximately Rs. 41,000, the availability of the device outside China has not been revealed yet.
