Google to release two Nexus devices made by HTC in 2016

Google has started a trend last year by releasing two Nexus smartphones by launching the Nexus 5X made by LG and the Nexus 6P manufactured by Huawei both of which are doing good in the market. Huawei has got a lot of praise for the Nexus 6P and it is said that the company was in race for manufacturing both the Nexus devices this year. The shocking news is that HTC will be the one making both the Nexus devices in 2016.

Will this help revive HTC from its problems, only time will tell. HTC has been associated with the Nexus series back in 2014 with the Nexus 9 tablet which was not as successful as they might have hoped. HTC was the first company to manufacture a Nexus smartphone, the Nexus One.

According to the source, the screen size in this years Nexus devices are going to be decreased to 5-inch and 5.5-inch compared to the 5X which has a 5.2-inch and the 6P sporting a 5.7-inch display. It looks like Google is going to bring down the display size of the device to be more in the smartphone range and not reach out to the Phablet category. This was seen last year as well as the screen size was dropped form the 6-inch Nexus 6 to the 5.7-inch Nexus 6P.

The idea behind going for a single manufacturer seems to be because of the fact that the LG made 5X has not got as much appreciation as the 6P has, which is because of many reasons but if a single company manufacturers both the devices maybe both the variants can get unified response. If this rumor turns out to be true then it can be a boon for HTC to make a comeback and get back their name in the market.
