Honor 7 launched in India with 5.2-inch display, Kirin 935 chipset for Rs. 22999

Huawei’s Honor brand in India has just a small portfolio currently, with limited number of smartphones available, but the company has made its mark in both, the premium series as well as in the budget range category. The latest launch from the company, i.e. the Honor 7 smartphone, comes as a successor to the Honor 6 and 6 Plus.

The Honor 7 comes with a 5.2-inch Full HD IPS-NEO LCD display, and there is company’s own HiSilicon Kirin 935 processor (octa-core – 2.2 GHz Cortex-A53 & quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53) along with 3GB of RAM powering the device. While there is 16GB internal storage in the device, a MicroSD card slot allows storage expansion by about 128GB.

It runs Android 5.0.2 Lollipop-based EMUI 3.1 version. On the back of the device is a fingerprint sensor that is said to be self learning, and it work Trustzone technology. It is a 360-degree unlocking one, and the sensor helps not just in unlocking the screen but for a few other functions as well.

Honor 7 BackThe camera department is where we see a lot packed by Huawei. After the Honor 6 Plus’ dual-rear camera setup, the Honor 7 comes back to a single sensor, a 20-megapixel camera with phase detection autofocus, and Dual-tone flash. On the front is a 8-megapixel camera assisted with some good software features and a LED flash.

In India, it is a Single SIM variant that will be available, and that supports 4G LTE connectivity. There is an IR blaster provided on the top of the device, to help use as a Smart controller of different smart electronics at home.

The Honor 7 is said to be having a thermal design, with a L shaped aluminium frame and thermal gel to dissipate heat from the corners, tackling any heating issues that might have occurred on heavy usage or gaming.

A 3100 mAh battery powers the device, and there is Smart Power 3.0, and reverse charging is possible as well. The phone supports 9V/2A fast charging, although there is no fast charger provided in the package.

The device will be available in Gray, Silver, Gold color options, and the pricing is set at Rs. 22999. The phone will be available from October 15th.
