Honor 8C with 6.26-inch display, Snapdragon 632 launched in India

Honor India has launched a new C-series smartphone in India, the Honor 8C. The smartphone comes as a successor to the Honor 7C and boasts itself as the first smartphone to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 processor. Also, the device has a back panel made of polycarbonate but it has something called as the cat-eye effect that shows two colors and it looks good, in the blue variant.

The Honor 8C comes with a 6.26-inch HD+ display with the notch on the top and the resolution is 720 x 1520 pixels. The is powered by the Snapdragon 632 chipset and that is the first phone to have that chip. It is the octa-core chipset with Kryo 250 CPUs clocking at 1.8GHz, and the variants have 4GB of RAM, and 32/64GB storage capacities. The Adreno 506 GPU helps with the graphic processing, and there is a dedicated MicroSD card slot for the storage expansion.

As for the capturing, the Honor 8C has a dual-lens camera combination with the 13-megapixel F/1.8 sensor assisted by a 2-megapixel depth-sensing camera for portraits. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel camera along with a soft LED flash to assist in low light selfies. The front camera is also used for the Face Unlock while the security is not limited to that as the back of the phone has a fingerprint sensor offering different features. The Honor 8C runs EMUI 8.2 based on Android 8.1 Oreo, and we might soon see the Android Pie update on it, though there is no confirmation from the company for the same.

The Honor 8C has an accelerometer, gravity sensor, light sensor, proximity sensor, magnetic field sensor, and an orientation sensor. The device has a 4000 mAh battery and it supports charging of up to 5V/2A capacity. The connectivity options of the device include Dual SIM with Dual-VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. There are two color options to be available for the Honor 8C – Blue, and Black.

The Honor 8C is priced at Rs. 11999 for the base variant while the 4GB/64GB option is priced at Rs. 12999.
