HTC U12 Life with 6-inch Full HD+ display, Snapdragon 636 SOC launched

HTC has launched their latest smartphone, the HTC U12 Life, today, in Berlin. The smartphone comes with an 18:9 display and a dual camera setup on the back. The U12 Life’s back has a twin texture design, with the top having a smooth acrylic glass, while the bottom part has horizontal lines etched into the glass surface.

The HTC U12 Life sports a 6-inch Full HD+ Super LCD screen with a resolution of 1080×2160 pixels. Notch haters can rejoice as the U12 Life has an 18:9 notchless display. Powering the smartphone is an octa-core Snapdragon 636 chipset with Adreno 09 GPU handling the graphics. It comes paired with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. There’s also room for storage expansion via a microSD card slot. The phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with HTC’ Sense UI on top.

For photos, the HTC U12 Life uses a dual camera setup on the back. It has a 16 MP primary camera with Phase Detection Autofocus and a f/2.0 lens on top, and a secondary 5 MP depth-sensing camera, for portrait shots. An LED flash assists the dual rear cameras. On the front, the phone greets you with a 13 MP fixed focus selfie shooter with a f/2.0 aperture, coupled with an LED flash. The rear camera can shoot videos at a maximum resolution of 2160p 30fps, while the front-facing camera is limited to 1080p.

HTC U12 Life Colors

Fueling the HTC U12 Life is a large 3600 mAh battery which sadly doesn’t have any fast charge support. It comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, for security. For Connectivity, the HTC U12 Life has 4G VoLTE, 802.11ac dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5, NFC, GPS, and GLONASS.

Pricing and Availability of HTC U12 Life

The HTC U12 Life comes in two color options – Moonlight Blue and Twilight Purple. The phone is priced at GBP 300 (EUR 334/ INR 27,618) in the UK and will be available in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East by the end of September 2018.
