Yu Ace launched with 5.45-inch 18:9 display, 4000 mAh battery in India

Yu, Micromax‘s sub-brand, which went into exile for quite a while now, has launched their latest entry-level smartphone, the Yu Ace, today, in India. Prior to the launch, the company had teased the public with a couple of photos and teasers on their twitter handle. The Ace comes with a FullVision display and a MediaTek chipset.

The Yu Ace sports a 5.45-inch HD+ IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 1440×720 pixels. A 2.5D curved glass covers the 18:9 display. Powering the smartphone is a quad-core MediaTek MT6739 (or MT6738) chipset with PowerVR GE8100 GPU handling the graphics. It comes with 2 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage, expandable up to 128 GB via a microSD card slot. The phone runs on Vanilla variant of Android 8.1 Oreo with Zero bloatware. Moreover, the company promises to update it to Android Pie, once it is available for the device.

The Yu Ace features a 13 MP rear-facing camera with an LED flash, as well as a 5 MP front-facing camera for selfies. There’s also an LED flash for the selfie camera.

The Yu Ace comes with a massive 4000 mAh removable battery. For security, the phone comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor as well as face unlock.

On the connectivity front, the Yu Ace has dual VoLTE support, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, GPS. Apart from this, the phone also supports up to 22 regional languages.

Pricing and Availability of Yu Ace

The Yu Ace comes in three colors – Charcoal Grey, Elektric Blue and Rose Gold. The phone is priced at INR 5,999 for the 2 GB RAM variant. The company has also announced a 3 GB RAM variant that comes with 32 GB storage, which will be available for INR 6,999, in the coming weeks.
