OnePlus 5 leak bottom back

No headphone jack on the OnePlus 5, new leaks reveals

After the recent OnePlus 5 leak from Android Authority showing how the design of the upcoming smartphone OnePlus 5 is, we now see newer leaks that not just confirm the design but also reveal a couple of new things, one of which you might not be happy to hear about. The OnePlus 5 is going to be launched very soon and it should be coming with top-notch specifications but when the company is following the others in making changes that are annoying, that won’t be well received.

The new pictures leaked show that the phone is going to lack a headphone jack. I mean, there is no big advantage than to get some space internally, but the removal of the 3.5mm jack will just make it a big point of talk because the other brands have been receiving a flak for doing the same. Apple took them out in their latest iPhone, Motorola in the Moto Z and while Samsung was rumored to do the same on its flagship S8, the company wisely chose to keep it simple by having the headphone jack.

The leak showed the bottom frame of the device and that shows the two grilles for speakers, which could indicate the presence of a stereo speaker set. The picture also shows a plain back, which means OnePlus has found a way to keep them concealed, and thus the back of the device looks sleek and neat, with that dual-lens camera combination that has been a known spec for a good time now.

I am still not convinced with the removal of headset jack, especially after the co-founder Carl Pei had asked about that and got 88%-12% as Yes-No for “Do you like headphone jacks?” question. Let us see how it comes out finally.

The other leaked specifications of the device include a 5.5-inch display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, 6GB of RAM and we are yet to see if OnePlus is sticking to the 1080p resolution or finally making it an upgrade to 2K resolution.
