Samsung has announced two new smartphones in their J segment, the Galaxy J1 (2016) with model number SM-J120 and the Galaxy J1 mini (SM-J105). The Galaxy J1 (2016) comes with 4G LTE support and the J1 mini has 3G connectivity only. Both the devices are launched in the entry-level segment with basic specifications at offer.
The Galaxy J1 (2016) sports a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED display with 800 x 480 Pixels resolution. It is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core Exynos 3475 processor with Mali T-720 GPU. It is coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB internal storage space expandable with microSD card. Both devices run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS. Both the devices sport a similar 5MP rear camera with the J1 having LED flash and the J1 mini lacking it. The front camera in the J1 is a 2MP shooter and the J1 mini is a VGA camera.

The Galaxy J1 Mini sports a 4-inch TFT display with 800×480 pixels resolution, it is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor and coupled with 768MB RAM which is quite rare these days with even the entry-level devices having, at least, 1GB of RAM along with 8GB internal memory and expandable with microSD card. It supports only 3G HSPA+ and comes with connectivity features like Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS. It is powered by 1500mAh battery.

The Galaxy J1 was introduced in Russia along with the J1 Mini was introduced in Philippines as well. They are available in Gold, White, and Black colors. The Galaxy J1 was launched in Dubai at AED 499 which is approximately US$ 136 or Rs. 9080. The pricing of the J1 mini has not been revealed yet.
