Xiaomi Mi Edge tipped with Dual Edged QHD display

Xiaomi is surely going after all the segments in the smartphone categories and wants to make sure that everyone notices their presence there. Now it’s time for the Curved display category which was recently started by Samsung Galaxy Note Edge and we saw devices like Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 Edge+ etc launched in the market. In the latest leak from China there is a new device from Xiaomi which is sports a dual edge display and will be named as Mi Edge according to the leaks.

The launch date for the Mi Edge was also said to be around October this year and it comes from Kjuma’s Weibo account. There were some images being released which as said to be mock-up images of the Mi Edge which Kjuma has released by corroborating with MyDrivers. There is no update about the device from Xiaomi and the legibility of the leaks is in question. Xiaomi was in news earlier last week for the Xiaomi Mi 4c which is another variant of the Mi 4. There were leaks about the AnTuTu benchmark testing as well.

Xiaomi Mi Edge Leak

Coming to the specifications of the Mi Edge according to the leaks, it sports a 5.2 QHD display and comes with 565ppi pixel density which might be including the curved displays on both sides. the curved display will be similar to the ones we can see in Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and the Galaxy S6 Edge+. It will be powered by Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor and supported by 3GB or 4GB of RAM. The camera specifications are not yet revealed, there is said to be a fingerprint scanner as well.

Coming to the availability and pricing, the Xiaomi Mi Edge will be available from October is what the leaks are pointing at and the pricing is said to $391 which is approximately Rs. 26,000. If the leaks and pricing are true, the Mi Edge will be taking the Samsung Edge series head on and will be making a major dent in their sales. Other companies like LG are also planning on releasing smartphones with curved displays as well in the near future.
