A large 5.7-inch flexible OLED display covers the front of the Xiaomi Mi Note 2. The dual 3D curved AMOLED display is visibly similar to Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge or Note 7. The latest smartphone features a full glass body with a curved glass sheet at the back. Internally, the Mi Note 2 is powered by the top-end Snapdragon 821 SoC. The flagship processor runs at a peak clock speed of 2.35 GHz along with an overclocked Adreno 530 GPU.

Storage-wise, the Mi Note 2 is one of the few smartphones to rock 6 GB of LPDDR4 RAM along with 128 GB internal memory. The base variant of the phablet comes with a 4 GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 64 GB on-board storage. For the inbuilt memory, Xiaomi has used the ultra-fast UFS 2.0 storage solution.

Coming to the camera, a 22.56 MP rear autofocus unit sits at the back of the Mi Note 2. This is equipped with an advanced EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization). Based upon a dedicated 3-axis gyroscope, the technology replaces the optical image stabilisation (OIS). The primary snapper can shoot up to 4K 2160p videos at 30 fps. At the front, there is an 8 MP autofocus camera instead of a fixed focus one. Xiaomi claims that this will significantly enhance the shooting range of the selfie unit.

A massive 4070mAh battery juices up the Mi Note 2. This is the exact capacity of the cell fuelling the recently unveiled LeEco Le Pro 3. The battery is compatible with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 technology to cut down the charging time. The latest phablet comes in two color variants namely Glacier White and Piano Black.

Xiaomi has disclosed a special version of its Mi Note 2 with Global LTE support. The new variant is compatible with a whopping 37 cellular bands from around the globe. There is an advanced GPS chip inside the brand new phablet, which works even inside tunnels where there is no satellite connectivity. It takes the help of the Mi Note 2’s inbuilt sensors to accurately depict location even in situations with zero signal coverage.
