Xiaomi Redmi Y1 Lite

Xiaomi Redmi Y1 Lite has 2GB RAM, Snapdragon 425 for Rs. 6999

Xiaomi India while announcing the new series, the Redmi Y series, didn’t limit it to one device as the Redmi Y1 Lite gets official alongside the Redmi Y1. The series aimed at youth comes in the budget range and the Y1 Lite has a compromise with a few specs, though it comes with the same screen size as the Y1, i.e. 5.5-inch. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass.

The Redmi Y1 Lite is a little underpowered when compared to the Y1 as the Lite has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage. Though, if the storage seems less, you can insert a MicroSD card into the dedicated slot for the storage expansion. The phone has MIUI 8 but by mid-November, there will be MIUI 9 update available for the Redmi Y1 Lite.

The Y1 Lite has a 13-megapixel rear camera with the phase detection autofocus and LED flash while on the front, there is a 5-megapixel camera for selfies. The phone weighs 150g, which is a light weight for a phone having a 5.5-inch display. There is a 3080 mAh battery offered as well.

The phone is going to be sold in a single variant unlike the Y1, and this is priced at Rs. 6999. It is going to be available on Mi.com and Amazon India. Having a quick look against the Xiaomi Redmi 4A, there are not many differences but the larger screen should give this a boost since there has been an upward pace in the need for bigger screen smartphones, and the Redmi Y1 Lite with that price should be a choice filling the gap in the budget segment. The Xiaomi Redmi Y1 Lite is going to be available from November 8th from 12:00 noon.
