Amazon launches a new lighter Kindle at Rs. 5999, shipping from July 7th

Amazon has just launched a new lighter and thinner Kindle e-Reader in India. This is the least priced Kindle in the market right now and is 9.1mm in thickness, while being the lightest too with a weight of 161 grams.

A rounded design is what we see on the new Kindle and it has a flat back with both, Black and White color options. For helping out the blind readers, a few countries have Bluetooth audio support. Using this support, one can listen to the text on their headphones when the Kindle is connected to it.

The Bluetooth audio support isn’t the only feature of the Kindle, as you can email yourself notes and can also highlight text in PDFs and speadsheet form. This particular feature is said to be rolling out to the other Kindle models in the coming days.

Just like the other models, the All-New Kindle E-reader has no blue light so reading during nights in low light is not a problem. This comes with a 6-inch screen size and there is no built-in light, unlike on the Paperwhite, Voyage, and Oasis models.

Though there is nothing specified about the battery life, it is said to be lasting for weeks on a single charge. Also, the storage capacity of 4GB is to hold thousands of books. Some of the other features for Kindle include Goodreads integration, Vocabulary Builder, and Word Wise.

The new Amazon Kindle is priced at Rs. 5999 and it is available for pre-order on Amazon India, with the shipping date of July 7th. Earlier, Amazon had also launched the Kindle Oasis, the top-end eReader with much better features at Rs. 23999.
