LeEco and Coolpad Might Soon Launch ‘Cool’ Smartphone with 6GB RAM

LeEco and Coolpad back in August had introduced the new Cool series their first smartphone after they both emerged into partnership when LeEco’s CEO Jia Yueting took over the position as Coolpad’s Chairman in August. Cool1 Dual is their first handset, and it looks like they are ready with their next smartphone in the Cool series. A new device has passed through the Chinese certification website TENAA, and it is simply named as Cool.

According to the TENAA listing, the new Cool smartphone will sport a 5.5-inches Full HD (1920 X 1080) display and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC clocked at 2.35GHz Quad-Core processor with Adreno 530 GPU. It comes with two RAM options; 4/6GB and will be offered in the variety of storage option starting from 32GB to 128GB. It is expected to run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow right out of the box.

Though the Cool 1 Dual featured a Dual Camera setup, this new handset is expected to pack a single 16-megapixel sensor on the back and an 8-megapixel shooter on the front. Connectivity options include, 4G VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, USB Type-C port. It also comes a Fingerprint sensor on the back down below the rear camera module. A massive 4000mAh battery will power the device.

With LeEco and Coolpad’s Partnership, you can naturally expect some of the design languages of the LeEco smartphones. The new Cool smartphones look quite resembles the LeEco Le Pro 3 handset that went official back in September. We have a cleaner back panel instead of the brushed finish seen on Le Pro 3. Nothing more about the device is known yet, with TENAA certification out of the way, we can expect the device to go official very soon in China. Stay tuned for more.
