The Google Chromecast is a really powerful device. It lets you stream media to your TV wirelessly, over a WiFi network. Today, let’s learn how you can cast anything from your computer to your TV, using the Chrome Web Browser. Well, I think you saw that coming with the Chromecast. You need to have the Chrome Browser installed on your computer for this to work. If you don’t have it, go ahead and install it first and then follow the tutorial below.

First and foremost, you’ll need the Chrome Web Browser and if you don’t have it installed, install it first, like I had told you earlier. Now for casting from your computer, you can either cast the entire screen, which is still in testing and may cause glitches here and there, or you can cast a single tab in your Chrome Browser to your TV. Let’s begin with the steps.

  • Head over to the Chrome Web Store to download the Google Cast Plugin for your Browser, or simply click here to directly go to that page.
  • Click on Add to Chrome and then click Add Extension on the dialog box that comes up.
